Honourable Obioma addressing the crowd
It was a spectacular boxing day indeed on boxing day 26th December, 2022 to celebrate the Christmas season through a dynamic man, Chief Ebenezer Ken Obioma; PDP candidate for Oshodi/Isolo Federal constituency.
The residents of the Oshodi/Isolo Local Government area trooped out in multitudes to be part of a boxing competition organised by Honourable Ebenezer Ken Obioma, a sports lover and supporter.
This talents hunt was organized to harness the potentials of youths who love boxing and have been looking for a platform for expression, remarked Honourable Obioma.
In an interview with journalists, Honourable Ebenezer Ken Obioma said that he has always been a sports lover and supporter.
In his own words, "I am happy for the success of this monumental boxing competition for the youths in my constituency, a world class boxing competition. "
Speaking further with CHAMPIONS NEWS, Honourable Obioma emphasized that he invited the Nigeria Boxing Federation Officials to cover the boxing competition because of his quest for excellence.
He said: " I personally contacted a seasoned Sports Administrator Chief Dr Jonathan Nnaji, who is also a member of the Nigerian Olympic Committee to coordinate this boxing competition with a professional touch according to International and National boxing standards with the help of Officials from Nigeria Boxing Federation. It was a huge success indeed ".
According to Chief Dr Jonathan Nnaji who happens to be the President of the Ndigbo United Congress support group for Atiku/Okowa campaign organisation who spoke with press men, "I really appreciate Honourable Obioma for the great work he accomplished here today. I am really impressed with this successful talent hunt. What we enjoyed here today is not the only benefit from voting for Honourable Obioma and all the aspirants under the umbrella of the People's Democratic party PDP. There are bigger forms of empowerment and greater opportunities we all will enjoy if we all come together to vote in His Excellency Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa and his PDP Team in 2023. This boxing competition today is very impressive and commendable. Infact for it to get the attention of the Nigerian Boxing Federation Officials, it shows it was professionally done".
He praised the boxers who participated and encouraged them to pursue boxing as a profession. "There is hope for Nigeria with what I saw here today ", concluded Chief Dr Jonathan Nnaji.
The presence of Chief Dr Jonathan Nnaji, a member of Nigeria Olympic Committee and Officials of the Nigeria Boxing Federation actually gave the event an International and National outlook.
A major highlight of the Talents hunt boxing competition was a mega cash empowerment to 30 women. A particular Elderly woman was so touched and prayed passionately for the great philanthropist, Honourable Ebenezer Obioma.
Infact some of the participants who spoke with journalists stated that if Honourable Ken Obioma could do this much singlehandedly from his pocket, imagine how much more he would do when elected next year as a member of the Federal House of Representatives under the umbrella of the People's Democratic party PDP. They pledged allegiance to the People's Democratic party PDP and promised to come out enmasse and vote for Honourable Obioma and PDP political aspirants during the 2023 general elections.
The climax of the event was when over 2,000 youths decamped from the All Progressive party APC to the People's Democratic party PDP and openly received the flags of the People's Democratic party PDP. They were seen all over Ilasamaja area of Oshodi Isolo LGA displaying their PDP flags and chanting solidarity songs in favour of the People's Democratic party PDP.
