AGN: Actors Guild of Nigeria Visits Family of Late Nollywood Star Alex Ekubo
Lagos, Nigeria – The Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN), Lagos State Chapter, on Sunday, May 17, 2026, paid a condolence visit to the family of late Nollywood star, Alex Ekubo, at his residence at Northern Fore Estate Chevron area, Lagos.
The visit followed remarks made by the Director of Communications of the AGN Lagos State Chapter, Ambassador Cornell Udofia, during an appearance on Morning Rave TV on Friday, May 15, 2026, where he disclosed that the National President of AGN, Alhaji Abubakar Sanusi, would soon visit the family to commiserate with them over the loss.
The condolence visit, which commenced at about 4:00 p.m., was attended by several notable figures within the Nigerian film industry and leadership of the Actors Guild of Nigeria.
Among those present were Chairman of the AGN Board of Trustees, Chief Emma Ogugua; veteran actor Segun Arinze; Ambassador Cornell Udofia, Director of Guild Communications, AGN Lagos State Chapter; Ifeoma Ikechukwu, Chief Whip of AGN; Emmanuel Onyika, Director of Guild Services, AGN Lagos State Chapter; actress and filmmaker Susan Peters; Chairman of AGN Lagos State Chapter, High Chief Ikebuwaje Funmilola Mary Edward; actors IK Ogbonna and Brian Okwara; media personality Ubi Franklin; and movie star Rita Dominic, among others.
During the visit, members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria offered prayers and sang worship songs in solidarity with the bereaved family, while expressing their heartfelt condolences and support during the difficult period.
The AGN leadership reaffirmed the guild’s commitment to standing by its members and their families in moments of grief and hardship.
